Self-reflect and dance with joy this month as we welcome the new exhibitions A Place for Me: Figurative Painting Now and Bárbara Wagner & Benjamin de Burca: Swinguerra. Create art with this month’s visiting Art Lab artist Mithsuca Berry, who through storytelling explores reflection, healing, and reimagination. Get the family moving with dancers from Afrobeats Dance Boston, a dance company that focuses on Contemporary African music. Reserve free admission tickets online in advance with the code PLAYDATE* and join us for art-making and family activities. Explore additional exhibitions in the galleries: Napoleon Jones‐Henderson: I Am As I Am – A Man, The Worlds We Make: Selections from the ICA Collection, and Raúl de Nieves: The Treasure House of Memory. Keep creating at home with a curated selection of downloadable activities that explore the art of storytelling.
NOTE: All visitors ages 2+ are required to wear a face mask in the theater.
*On Saturday, April 30, museum admission is FREE for families when accompanied by kids ages 12 and under, with up to 2 adults per family. Timed entry tickets are required, and advance reservations are strongly recommended. Day-of tickets are not guaranteed.
Note: Swinguerra contains a brief sequence of flashing light which may not be suitable for people with visual sensitivities. This artwork also includes explicit language.
