Come join the party! Fun for all, the Watershed Block Party, a free event at the ICA’s Watershed in the East Boston Shipyard and Marina, will feature Reiki demonstrations by Beatriz Cardona, a performance of Spanish folk songs by Zumix Sprouts, music by DJ Hernán Choque, salsa lessons from Salsa y Control, art activities, and games, as well as the mesmerizing sculptures featured in Guadalupe Maravilla: Mariposa Relampago. The Watershed is open from 11 AM to 5 PM, with Block Party activities from 11 AM to 3 PM.
Tickets are not required to visit the Watershed.

Artmaking in the Harbor Room with Bren Bataclan
Thinking about the past and your hopes for the future, what is a memorable journey you have taken or a journey you would like to take? Local artist Bren Bataclan invites you to create a postcard inspired by the journeys we’ve taken or have yet to take. Create a postcard to share, send, or keep as a reminder of hope.
Workshop is drop-in, first-come-first-served, and space is limited.
About Bren Bataclan
Bren Bataclan is a Boston-based artist. He was born in the Philippines and grew up in Daly City/Bay Area, CA. Prior to becoming a full-time artist, Bren taught design and computer animation at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Exactly 20 years ago, Bren began giving away paintings in public spaces with a note saying, “This painting is yours if you promise to smile at random people more often.” Since then, he has given away over 3,000 paintings in close to 80 different countries and to all 50 states in the U.S. As anti-bullying programs gained popularity, schools began to ask Bren to give presentations about his kindness-related street art project. His “Pay-It-Forward” themed presentations led to mural projects. Bren has now painted over 300 murals for schools, hospitals and businesses.
