Minari – written & directed by Lee Isaac Chung. Photo: Josh Ethan Johnson/A24
The ICA is pleased to partner with A24 for this special, one-time virtual screening, available exclusively to ICA members.
A tender and sweeping story about what roots us, Minari follows a Korean-American family that moves to an Arkansas farm in search of their own American Dream. The family home changes completely with the arrival of their sly, foul-mouthed, but incredibly loving grandmother. Amidst the instability and challenges of this new life in the rugged Ozarks, Minari shows the undeniable resilience of family and what really makes a home.
At this year’s Academy Awards, Yuh-Jung Youn won the Oscar for best supporting actress for her performance as Soonja.
Includes special introduction by actor Alan Kim, as well as post-screening discussion between writer/director Lee Isaac Chung and actors Steven Yeun, Alan Kim, Yeri Han, Yuh-Jung Youn, and Noel Cho and moderated by Janet Yang.
Runtime (including bonus content): 153 minutes
Captions available in English and Korean.
This screening is available only to US viewers.
