Discover dance from 1970’s to today inspired by the exhibition, Charles Atlas: About Time, in these fun introductory sessions led by Providence’s The Haus of Glitter. Each drop-in session is led by an experienced dance instructor and will focus on different genres, including Vogue, Ballroom, Breakdance, Hip Hop, and Afrobeats. All experience and ability levels welcomed! Dance partner not required. Comfortable shoes are recommended.

Strut the runway, pursue your ferocity, and explore the fundamentals of of Vogue and other Ballroom categories like face, hands performance, and runway! Learn about the history of Vogue + Ballroom—a Queer Afro-Latinx tradition of civil rights and wellness— with The Haus of Glitter. Come together in community and express your true self through dance.
January 30: Vogue, Ballroom + Afrobeats
Did you know that Afrobeats and Vogue are connected? Join The Haus of Glitter for an open-to-all dance workshop that explores the connected history of Afrobeats and Vogue as traditions of culture, belonging, wellness and activism. All are welcome!
About the Dancers
The Haus of Glitter Dance Company (based in Providence, RI) is a dance company, performance lab, and preservation society. Haus works, through movement and choreography, to shift the energetic center of the universe towards care, healing, justice and freedom.
