+1 Teen Members join Boston-based artist Taína Vargas for an evening of art making and exploration. Create your own vessel of empowerment, inspired by feature exhibition Simone Leigh, out of air-dry clay. Tickets will be available for +1 Teen members to reserve beginning 10AM on Friday, May 5.

Introduction and Snacks | 6–6:20 PM 
Meet Boston artist Taína Vargas and enjoy some complimentary drinks and snacks. Don’t forget to pick up your +1 Member swag while you mingle with other +1 teens with the artist! 

Walkthrough of Simone Leigh | 6:30–7 PM 
Explore the new feature exhibition, Simone Leigh. Simone Leigh uses materials like clay and bronze to create monumental work that centers the experiences of Black women throughout history and culture. 

Art making | 7–8 PM  
Work with Boston artist Taína Vargas to create and build your own vessel out of air-dry clay. Explore materials and form to create a vessel that tells a story about who you are.
