Sold out!

After selling out its stunning performances last year, Compagnie Hervé Koubi returns with its highly physical, fluid work that combines hip-hop, capoeira, and contemporary dance with powerful Sufi imagery. The company of French-Algerian and African male dancers performs the breathtaking Ce que le jour doit à la nuit (What the Day Owes the Night), returns on Friday, and Saturday’s program features the Boston premiere of Les nuits barbares ou les premiers matins du monde (The Barbarian Nights or the First Dawns of the World), an awe-inspiring new work that explores the historical mix of countless cultures and religions that make up a universal Mediterranean ethos.

Free preperformance talks with Boston Dance Alliance Executive Director Debra Cash 30 minutes prior to curtain in the ICA State Street Corporation Lobby. Free postperformance Q&A with the artists Friday, January 12.
