This summer, join the ICA as we host bi-monthly digital workshops with a focus on individual and collective well being. During this time, we want to tune into our own well being through art making, movement, mindfulness, and creating space to connect with others. Workshops will alternate between fostering physical health and tuning into our creative making sides.
Threads of Connection is a wall-sized tapestry installation in the Bank of America Art Lab by local artist Merill Comeau that recognizes the building of community found within the age-old practice of gathering to assemble fabric pieces in quilting bees. In this workshop, Merill asks us to consider the historic symbolism of flowers as a way to visually depict our memories and current emotions.
