Katia Pérez Fuentes (She/Her/They/Them) is a research-based visual artist and interdisciplinary creative organizer based in Chicago, IL. She currently works at The Art Institute of Chicago under the department of Academic Engagement & Research; Pérez is Program Coordinator for Internships & Fellowships as part of the Diversifying Art Museum Leadership Initiative (DAMLI). She is an alumnus of the Smithsonian Latino Center’s Young Ambassadors Program, the Andrew W. Mellon Summer Curatorial Program, and Working Classroom. Growing up in Albuquerque, NM as an undocumented migrant, Pérez a first-generation college graduate from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, receiving her BFA with Leadership recognition in 2018.
