Join us for a day of family fun! Celebrate the final weekend of Forecast Form: Art of the Caribbean Diaspora, 1990s–Today and enjoy art-making and gallery activities inspired by the art on view! All activities are drop-in, first come first served, space is limited. Reserve free admission tickets online in advance (tickets will be available the second week of the month prior). *  

*On Saturday, February 24, museum admission is FREE for families when accompanied by kids ages 12 and under, with up to 2 adults per family. Tickets must be reserved online in advance. Use the code PLAYDATE when reserving your ticket(s). Advance tickets are strongly recommended; day-of tickets are not guaranteed. 

Tales Through Tapestries in the Art Lab | 10 AM–3 PM

1st Floor, Art Lab 

Weave your own mini tapestry inspired by Suchitra Mattai’s An Ocean Cradle! Visitors are encouraged to use a variety of textile supplies to tell their story through unique patterns and textures. Art-making is drop-in on a first come first served basis, and space is limited.

Enjoy a live performance from Branches Steel Orchestra‘s youth group featuring the joyous sounds of steel pan drums!

Forecast Form Fashion Scavenger Hunt

4th Floor, Galleries 

Explore Forecast Form through the lens of fashion with this activity card created in collaboration with Boston Caribbean Fashion Week! Make connections between the way artists and designers think about colors, materials, and textures. Then use the inspiration you find in the galleries to draw your own designs!

4th Floor, Mediatheque 

Join for a staff led reading of family-friendly storybooks, and make connections to artworks on view.
